Who we are

Rising Stars Music School (operated by Betty and Mickey Corp) offers one-on-one music lessons in New York City. We are located at 18-84 Stanhope St, Ridgewood, NY 11385. For anything in this policy, contact us at sean@risingstars-musicschool.com.

What we collect

• Account and contact details: names, email addresses, and phone numbers.
• Lesson information: bookings, attendance, instruments, teacher notes, and practice activity.
• Messages we exchange with you by email or text.
• Payment records: what was charged and when. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor, and never touch our servers.

How we use it

We use this information to run your lessons: scheduling, reminders, billing, receipts, and talking with you about your lessons. That is the whole list. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the school run, and each one only receives what it needs for its job: Stripe (payments), Google (calendar and email), Twilio (text messages), and Vercel (hosting). We do not share your information with anyone else.

Children

Many of our students are children. A child's account is created and managed by a parent or guardian, and the child's name and lesson details come from that guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Guardians can review, correct, or delete their child's information at any time by contacting us.

Texts and email

We send lesson reminders and scheduling messages by text and email. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages, or ask us and we will switch you to email only.

Retention and your choices

We keep lesson and payment records while you are a student and afterward as required for accounting. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing sean@risingstars-musicschool.com. We will respond promptly.

Security

Access to your information is limited to school staff who need it to do their jobs, and it is stored with the industry-standard providers named above.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
